This is wonderfully done — the animation vividly reinforces Pinker’s point about speech acts as encoding multiple levels of information by “exploding” out from the simplest, most direct meaning.
I liked the small The Graduate reference, which in retrospect seems all about Ben’s coming to terms with an adult world made up of indirect speech acts.
